French Onion Tart
A tender pastry crust topped with sweet roasted onions and just a hint of herbs make this French onion tart a party favorite.
INGREDIENTS
- About a pound of white pearl onions
- Puff pastry dough
- Della Terra Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- Della Terra Balsamic Vinegar
- Fresh thyme
- Grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt & Pepper
- Egg wash (1 egg mixed with 1 tbsp of water)
PREPARATION
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- On a sheet pan, drizzle olive oil, balsamic vinegar, thyme, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Slice and place white pearl onions on top.
- Cover with a rectangle cut of puff pastry dough and press down on all sides. It should look like a pop tart. Then brush with egg wash.
- Place in the oven until golden brown, roughly 20 minutes.
- Flip tart over and serve with whatever garnishes you'd like.
